Actisense EMU-1 NMEA 2000 Engine Gateway; versatile and flexible engine interface

Lambda Marine called to the rescue to interface Yamaha engines

Lambda Marine, a maritime ICT system integrator and Distributor, based in the UAE, recently was called to the rescue of a customer unable to interface his Yamaha engines with his Garmin MFD. Since neither the local Yamaha Dealer nor the Garmin Dealer had the knowledge required to interface the engines to the MFD, Lambda Marine was requested to find a solution. After extensive research of the Yamaha engine data protocol, engine sensor types and surveying the vessels Yamaha wiring system, Lambda Marine supplied and installed the Actisense EMU-1 NMEA 2000 Engine Gateway to connect the analogue engine sensors via an Actisense A2K-SBN-1 NMEA 2000 Network

The Actisense EMU-1 is a specialized analogue to NMEA 2000 Gateway which converts data from analogue engine senders into NMEA 2000. The EMU-1 enables NMEA 2000 compatible display devices such as Chart Plotters and Multi Function Displays to monitor one or two engines on a vessel. The EMU-1 has a PC based configuration tool that allows the settings inside the EMU-1 to be changed to best suit the engine it is working with, making it a flexible solution for many engine makes and models. Capable of measuring a wide range of engine parameters, the EMU-1 reports how the engine is operating and shares the information across the network.

The A2K-SBN-1 4-WAY SMALL BOAT NETWORK is a complete NMEA 2000 backbone in a single device. A complete network for four devices with internal terminators and power feed. The equivalent of four T-pieces in a single case provides a significant time and space saving with no more connecting multiple T-pieces together.
