The FS-3ER is FarSounder's latest product introduction for longer range surface ship navigation and obstacle avoidance which uses Dual Transmission™ technology. Like the FS-3DT, it provides a 90° field-of-view depth map with a single ping. However, the FS-3ER also includes a narrow beam 800m – 1,000m range mode. This Dual Transmission™ design can be configured to automatically switch between the standard 90° ping and the long range 1,000m narrow beam ping.

The system includes a bulkhead mount power module and a streamlined sonar head with Dual Transmission™ capabilities. The user interface is FarSounder's SonaSoft™ software which is a Windows XP software package that is capable of networking a single sonar head with one single user interface station.

The FS-3ER operates at 70kHz and has an accuracy of approximately 1.6 degrees.

The system includes a 2U rackmount power module and a streamlined sonar head with Dual Transmission™ capabilities.
