GMDSS Sailing area A4 is valid for commercial vessels of 300GT and above engaged in international voyages and covers the area North of latitude 70 degrees North and South of latitude 70 degrees South (including the poles). Equipment fitted needs to be compliant with two of the following three options: 1) duplicated and/or 2) maintained on-board by a certified radio/electronic officer with spares and manuals and/or 3) supported by a shore-based-maintenance contract (SBMCC). Below package solutions are based upon duplication and SBMCC.
